A plating shop operating three acid zinc lines was facing rising chemical costs, process variability, and increasing reject rates. They needed a partner who would be there to provide support and could help identify the root causes to improve overall efficiency.

The Solution

Through Columbia Chemical’s Finisher’s Advantage® Program, our team conducted a line audit and identified opportunities to improve chemical usage, process control, operator training, and technical support. The customer converted all three lines to our COLSID Acid Zinc Process and implemented brightener feeders and liquid cleaners with automated feed systems. Columbia Chemical also provided on-site training, analytical testing, and ongoing technical support.
