Our line of trivalent passivates for superior corrosion protection are hexavalent chromium free and comply with current ELV, RoHS and REACH regulations. They are known throughout the industry for meeting and exceeding OEM corrosion protection specs. They can provide a trivalent passivation layer that is clear, blue, yellow, black or iridescent.

  • COLDIP® Ni-Z Clear 250

    Unique Trivalent passivating conversion coating for electroplated zinc-nickel alloys. Imparts an aesthetically pleasing clear, colorless conversion coating which when applied properly will produce a finish that exceeds 250 hours of neutral salt spray to white corrosion products.

  • COLDIP® ALPASS 455 CS

    A concentrated light green liquid based on trivalent chromium technology used in the passivation of aluminum alloys, magnesium, zinc, and zinc alloys via immersion. It provides excellent corrosion protection and is an alternative to hexavalent chromium passivation and is suitable for post-treatment after anodic coating or as a pretreatment before lacquering, powder coating, or application of adhesives to the aluminum or aluminum alloy surfaces. COLDIP® ALPASS 455 CS will leave a clear, iridescent, or slightly light blue color on the aluminum surface (dependent upon aluminum alloy, concentration, time and temperature, or treatment of surface).

  • COLDIP® MIDNIGHT 1500

    Latest generation trivalent black passivate for zinc plating. Easy-to-use process with a simple three-part system which allows for maximum color control and provides a consistent black appearance. The passivate works well over alkaline cyanide-free zinc and zinc-iron/cobalt alloy deposits.

  • COLDIP® NI-Z SAPPHIRE 400

    High-corrosion resistant bright blue trivalent passivate for use in the rapidly growing Zinc Nickel (ZnNi) electroplating Industry.  Imparts an aesthetically pleasing blue-bright conversion coating which, when applied properly, will produce a finish that exceeds 400 hours of neutral salt spray to white corrosion products.

    High performance trivalent passivation for use over zinc electroplated deposits. Gives a slightly iridescent appearance and extremely high corrosion resistance. Wide operating ranges for ease of use and ambient operating temperature. This product contains cobalt.

  • COLDIP® NI-Z Black Diamond 500

    Unique trivalent black conversion coating for electroplated zinc-nickel alloy. Ideal for both rack and barrel installations using alkaline and acid-nickel deposits. Produces a uniform, gloss-black, scratch-resistant finish and works over a very wide nickel alloy content range of 11% – 17%. Achieves over 400 hours to white corrosion and over 1,000 hours to red rust when sealed with Columbia Chemical sealer.

    Trivalent blue passivation for use over zinc electroplated deposits. Suggested for high corrosion resistance requirements where an additional sealer or topcoat may not be used. This product contains cobalt.

    Economical trivalent clear passivation for zinc and zinc alloy electroplated deposits. Provides low to medium corrosion resistance and minimal zinc plate dissolution. This product contains cobalt.

    Trivalent blue bright passivation for use over zinc-nickel electroplated deposits. One component system for ease of use that that provides additional corrosion resistance to the underlying alloy deposit. This product does not contain cobalt.
