Alkaline Zinc

The COLZINC ACF-II Process

Columbia Chemical’s COLZINC ACF-II process offers wide-current density bright range, excellent throwing power, and superior ductility.  COLZINC ACF-II operates at a wide range of dissolved zinc metal, so platers easily maintain a suitable zinc metal range.  It provides unmatched throwing power for uniform plate distribution, with no excessive zinc plate build-up at high-current density areas.  A special “ductilizer” component included in the brightener produces highly ductile deposits with no blistering or flaking.

COLZINC ACF-II BRIGHTENER - a blend of cationic polyamines that contributes deposit leveling, grain refinement, brightness, and ductility.

COLZINC ACF PURIFIER - (contains thiourea) used to improve deposit clarity and eliminate low to mid current dullness due to trace impurities.

COLGLO L.C.D. BOOSTER - an aldehyde-based additive for increasing overall brightness especially at mid to low current densities.

COLZINC ACF CONDITIONER

COLZINC ACF FUME SUPPRESSOR-II - a potent foaming agent for eliminating caustic spray and controlling fumes at the surface of the plating bath.

The EXCEL Series of Zinc Plating Processes

Columbia Chemical has introduced EXCEL 800 and 801, the absolute brightest and easiest-to-use next generation alkaline non-cyanide zinc plating processes.  EXCEL processes are custom-tuned to meet individual plating shop needs.  Products include specially formulated brighteners, purifiers and boosters.  Columbia technical support personnel work closely with plating shops to ensure results.  Both the product mix and operating instructions for EXCEL 800 and 801 processes are customized for each individual rack and barrel tank to achieve specific deposit requirements with highly economic results.

EXCEL 800 - new alkaline non-cyanide zinc process recommended where  purity of local rinse waters, plating chemicals and anodes are less than ideal  in developing markets lacking experience with cyanide-free technologies.

EXCEL 801 - new alkaline non-cyanide zinc process recommended for use where rinse waters, anodes and plating chemicals have a high degree of purity-typically for use with applications in Europe and North America.
