Research Technician
Research Technician
Columbia Chemical has an employment opportunity for a Research Technician.
Duties performed:
- Assists research department on assigned projects related to new product development and existing product improvements.
- Performs analysis and troubleshooting of plating solutions to help complete analytical reports. Records data in appropriate locations.
- Assists lab with QC testing of materials, enters data as required.
- Operates analytical equipment like FTIR, AA, pH meters, Hull cells, and titrations. Develops an understanding of established methods for testing and evaluation.
- Maintains and completes laboratory notebooks, with all project details, tests and results. Able to provide summaries of collected data to supervisors.
- Responsible for general laboratory housekeeping, chemical storage and lab equipment. Follows chemical lab hygiene practices to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
- Splits time between research department (60%) and lab (40%). Offers suggestions for improvements and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associates Degree or higher
- 0-2 years related laboratory experience with skills including titrations, pH checks, AA and FTIR
- Good organizational skills and communication is required
- Word processing and data base entry skills are required
