The COLSID Series of Zinc Plating Processes

Columbia Chemical’s COLSID processes for chloride zinc plating baths are internationally recognized for combining super bright/super ductile deposits, low foaming, wide operating temperature range, and wide burn-free plating range.

COLSID AP - A bright-acid zinc plating process for rack and barrel baths containing ammonium chloride or combinations of ammonium chloride and potassium chloride.  COLSID AP contains a special “ductilizer” component which produces highly ductile, bright zinc deposits.

COLSID K-250 - A superb, potassium chloride-based, ammonia-free bright acid zinc plating process, designed for rack plating and barrel plating applications.  COLSID K-250 offers superior high-current density burn-free range compared to other potassium chloride zinc plating processes on the market.

The EXTREME Series of Zinc Plating Processes

New EXTREME acid-chloride zinc plating processes have been introduced specifically for high-volume barrel lines, but are also suitable for most rack plating applications.  The process name reflects the extreme benefits including extreme economy, extreme ease of use, extremely enhanced high temperature operation and extremely tolerant to job shop conditions.  Both highly economical aqueous brighteners and high-performance solvent-based brighteners are available in the EXTREME series.

EXTREME 110 - Process for potassium chloride (ammonia-free) acid zinc plating.

EXTREME 210 - Process for mixed ammonium chloride/potassium chloride acid zinc plating.

EXTREME 310 - Process for full ammonium chloride acid zinc plating.
